June Cashwell was born in
New York City
in 1952. She grew up in a family of artists and musicians. Her father, a water-color artist and interior designer, had June drawing from a very young age.
In the ‘70s, she worked with interior designers, supplying large acrylic paintings for private home showcases.
After her 2 daughters were born, she began drawing and painting childhood fantasy worlds for children – faeries, fantasy gardens, fireflies, butterflies. She also led art therapy-based classes for children, and today volunteers her time at local adult rehab facilities leading art classes.
June’s paintings have been sold privately around the country, and she has donated many works for charity events.
